A Commitment to Animal Welfare and Social Sustainability
Last July, the company’ management received a special request from Ferreira de Castro Secondary School, class 10C. The request was to allocate part of a plot of land owned by Macro Group to continue a project, which began in September 2023, entitled " Onde há gato, (não) há…". The project is recognized by the Ministry of Education within the scope Citizenship and Development course and aims to care for and shelter a colony of feral cats.
A Sustainable and Responsible Approach
Moved by the importance of this initiative, the company’ management decided to support the project. This action reflects the company’s commitment to the well-being of the community (including the animal community), sustainable development, and social responsibility.
By granting part of the land for this project, Macro Group reinforces its commitment to both the community and the environment, promoting the protection of local wildlife and encouraging responsible practices in managing animal colonies. Additionally, by collaborating with a local school, Macro Group supports the development of young, conscious citizens who are learning, in practice, values such as empathy, citizenship, and the importance of community work.
Impact on the Community and Social Development
Initiatives like "Onde há gato, (não) há…" help address animal welfare issues and have a positive impact on social cohesion. Involving students in this project fosters a culture of responsibility, respect, and collaboration—fundamental principles for a sustainable society and responsible governance.
We invite everyone to learn more about the full project, published on EstudoEmCasa [>here<], and encourage support for this important initiative, which reflects the environmental and social responsibility values that Macro Group upholds.
